Specialty Gifts Business Plan

Specialty Gifts Business Plan

Pink Lady Bug Designs LLC (PLBD), is a supplier of unique, high-quality chocolates, gift hampers, and other fine products. These are sold to raise awareness and funds for women’s health programs.

  • We are a newly incorporated company and need equity and loans to help us raise capital.
  • We expect to double our sales by year two; by year three, we hope to triple Year Two’s sales and have a healthy cash flow.
  • 50% of our after-tax profits will be donated to women’s health programs.
  • Our business strategy is to maximize cash flows by minimizing overhead and capital expenses and thereby maximizing returns.

Pink Lady Bug Designs was founded to promote Linda Herter’s ideas and designs. Linda has been involved and working in the merchandising sector since the early 1970&#8217. Linda was also informed by the Internet dotcom company that her employment was ending. Linda saw the opportunity in difficulties and decided to utilize her professional and creative talents to start a company that would maximize her abilities. The company’s major objective is to raise money for breast cancer awareness, as well as to provide funds for women who don’t have the means to pay for necessary screenings. We desire that Linda’s story will be an example of hope and inspiration for others who might face similar problems.

Pink Lady Bug Designs is a business strategy that combines several key elements and features that will lead to our success.

  • The Pink Lady Bug story.
  • We offer only the highest quality products.
  • Contributing half the after-tax profits for women’s health causes
  • It is important to be the first to market, even if there is little competition.
  • Partnering with a celebrity spokesperson
  • Forming alliances with vendors and other suppliers of fine products.
  • Customers who are emotionally driven to purchase a product that supports a cause will be sold a product.
  • The United States alone has 20-30 million potential customers. This group includes the 2 million women affected by breast and ovarian carcinomas over the past 10 years, as well as their loved ones, friends, and caregivers.
  • Potential customers have shown overwhelming acceptance of our ideas, mission, and values.
  • Endorsements from large organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Breast & Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP) and many more.
  • The establishment of two-way links between the American Cancer Society website and BCCP website.

Pink Lady Bug designs’ strength lies in each principal’s talents and experiences. They are driven by a strong conviction to work towards the prevention and eventual cure of life-threatening women’s diseases. We also know that our strengths lie in national distribution marketing. We recognize this and are working to create synergistic partnerships with individuals and companies that can provide guidance and advice for the launch of our products national.

Balance our team with members who bring the necessary skills to accomplish our goals. Jim Herter is the Bigname University Food Services Department’s Business and Facilities Manager for the past 13 years. His primary responsibilities include planning and facilitating a $31million budget, overseeing the department&#8217, and providing management training in areas of financial planning and analysis. Jim will serve as the vice president and Controller lending his financial planning skills.

Brian Egendoerfer is currently employed by the Bigname University as the Manager of Web Development Services. For six years, Mr. Egendoerfer held the position of Director of Alumni Information Technology in the Alumni Association. Brian’s skills will be key to the maintenance of our Web pages.

Our organization has received additional support from the Advisory Board which includes key support persons who provide guidance and insight. Dr. Craig Sponseller M.D. is a Saint Louis University School of Medicine clinician and researcher in Hepatology. He is closely involved in the Cancer Center, which specializes in liver cancer management and other types. Dr. Sponseller travelled with Naomi Judd on her lecture tour, « An Evening With Naomi Judd », to educate the public about hepatitis.

His knowledge of the medical profession, and his involvement in charities and philanthropic events will be invaluable.

George Friend, M.D., F.A.C.S graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been practicing in South Bend since 1971. From 1972 to the 1990&#8217’s, he served as Director of Surgical Training at Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph&#8217’s Medical Center in South Bend. He is currently the Medical Director of Breast Care Services at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. His extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and breast care communities locally and nationally will prove to be an asset.

Castles Sport, an elite alumni apparel manufacturer, is headed up by Karen Castles Gray from Atlanta, Georgia. Castles Sport is licensed to over 40 top universities in the United States. The company has generated over $3 million in revenues last year. Karen’s experience and advice in merchandising at a national level will greatly assist our national sales strategy.

Phase One of our marketing plan will focus on the sale of high-quality chocolates. Due to our research and previous sales, our products are already in high demand from fund-raising groups as favors at various functions. We have chosen a high quality product that is appealing to many markets. This popularity is evident in the growing demand for high-end chocolates. What is great about our products? Customers can enjoy them, whether they are supporting our cause or simply looking for fine chocolates.

Our expertise is in merchandising and not production. We have an agreement with Bissinger’s French Confectioners of St. Louis to produce our chocolates. The Bissinger family began creating their fine delicacies in 17th-century Paris, France. Bissinger’s thereby will handle all product orders and fulfillment, eliminating any capital outlay or logistics management. Bissinger&#8217 will offer us the opportunity to benefit from their economies of scale in packaging and printing.

All of the company’s development and operating capital was funded through loans from its principals. We will need to secure loans for Phase One in order to achieve our company’s goals. Funding will be used to fund legal and accounting costs, stationery and office supplies as well marketing and promotion consultants. Research and development and page development are also possible. We will also purchase a personal computer with cable modem capabilities. To maintain a positive cash balance, the remainder of the funds will be held in cash.

Three $20,000 memberships are available with principal and interest payments in the years three, four and five. We are confident that our equity members will be repaid by Year 5, as we have a substantial cash balance projected after Fiscal Year 3.

1.1 Objectives

  • To build a substantial cash position by the third year.
  • Our goal is to contribute $100,000 in our third year of service to not-for profit organizations that support women’s initiatives and organizations.
