He also has excellent contacts which he can leverage to get future clients. Executive plans on placing a wide variety of executive positions such as programmers, project managers and CEO’’s. They will be paid upon placement. They can also work for several clients simultaneously.
The staff will include Mr. Bloodhound, who will work full-time. Executive will hire a full-time secretary/receptionist in month two, a part-time generalist in month three, and a full-time account executive in month four. The organization will survive with four employees from month four to the foreseeable future.
The Market
The Executive Search & Rescue Placement Firm intends to target the Portland metro area’s emerging market. Portland will be targeted as it is 1) the home of Mr. Bloodhound’s network 2) Portland is a prime location for emerging companies and is part of Silicon Forest. It has the second highest VC money in the West after Seattle and Bay.
Executives are focusing on emerging companies because emerging companies have more need for executives than smaller growth-oriented firms. Leadership skills are in high demand as companies expand.
Executive will target both high technology and non-high tech firms within the emerging market. The majority of emerging companies are made up of high tech firms. This group can make up as much as 80% of this market. Executive can provide value-added service for emerging companies even though they are most likely high-tech.
The Executive Search & Rescue Placement Firm’s marketing strategy will be based on advertising and networking. Advertising will be done at the various local publications that cater to emerging companies. Executive will be often represented in the Business Journal of Portland, which is the most prominent.
