Agriculture Fruit Farm Business Plan
Problem & Solution
Problem worth solving
People want vegetables and foods with high nutritional values and great taste. The national diet is a disaster. Our obesity problem is very serious.
Our Solution
We use present and future agricultural technology to produce organic, tasty, and nutritional vegetables. We start with an existing farm that already has custom-innovated equipment. The addition of horticultural tech in strawberry production will enable double use of the temperature controlled overhead.
Target Market
Concurrence
Current Alternatives
Alabama is one the top farming regions in the eastern United States. This creates a fiercely competitive environment that attracts many industry players. Since almost all the produce is considered commodities, large scale buyers are more concentrated than the farmers. As a result, overall margins and rivalries for wholesaler contract contracts are very small. Competitive threats come from three main segments:
- Imported vegetables of lower quality.>
- Mississippi pound vegetables
- Alabama vegetable producers.
Three farms from the immediate area compete for direct buyers in the individual market segment. They are the Anniston and Organics-To-You farms, as well as the Terrance Livingston vegetable garden. Each of these farmers has produce stands. They also sell to local farmersՉ۪ markets. The exception is Organics-To-You Farm. All the other competitors are focused on a niche and heavily dependent on federal subsidies.
Our Advantages
The Farmers Group strategy is to profitably and efficiently utilize present and future agricultural technology in the production of vegetables. A profitable vegetable farm will be acquired by the company. The equipment was custom-designed and manufactured to give it a competitive advantage in the market. Additional use of horticultural technology for strawberry production will double the overhead. Farmers Group hopes to consolidate considerable goodwill already created by exercising the option of not adding another high-production facility to the present supply-demand scenario.
In the first year, the company’s goals are to:
- Prepare for the future.
- Green Acres vegetable production system should be relocated and expanded in order to make it functional.
- Incorporate greens culture into your system.
- In full production by spring of second year,
The long-term goal of the company is to eliminate products that are not profitable and replace them by products that are more practical and less expensive.
