The Magnolia Hotel is located high above Half Moon Bay, California. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The Inn has seven rooms that are individually furnished, each with a different antique theme. We are a complete bed & breakfast Inn that serves a complimentary full-service breakfast to each guest every morning. Magnolia’s market strategy is to make it a destination of preference for professionals in the San Francisco Bay region who are looking for a place that allows them to recharge and relax. We will also promote to newly married couples looking for that special getaway. We want to be visible to all potential guests travelling on Highway 101 through Half Moon Bay.

Magnolia will be displaying an attractive sign to inform potential customers and passers-by about our existence. The Inn will be advertised in the Bay Area Yellow Pages, and on the Internet via a Web page that will concentrate on its features. The rooms will all be displayed with their own decor. Outside views of the Pacific Ocean and beautiful gardens will also be shown. Attractions within 30 miles of the Inn will be displayed with information about our shuttle service, room rates and directions. The Magnolia is confident that it will not take long to build a following that will put us at full capacity within the next year. The Inn desires steady growth with an average capacity of over 90% for Year 1, and profits increasing at a rate that is 10%.

Jim Anderson and Nancy Anderson own the Magnolia. They live in the Inn all year. The Andersons manage every aspect of the Inn’s operation. The Inn will have a small staff, including a cook and maid. The cook will work 20 hour a week while the maid will stay on the payroll for 40 hours. Nancy will also need the maid to help her take reservations and supervise the front desk. Nancy will manage the inside operations and work with the maid, cook, and take reservations. Jim will maintain the grounds and drive the van to shuttle guests. Nancy and Jim will promote the inn and manage the advertising.

Each guest will be treated with the kind of attention that is reserved for family. Our guests will feel like they are stepping into a world where luxury and rest is all around them when they arrive. We expect our staff to be attentive to every guest and provide exceptional service.
