Bridal Gown Shop Business Plan

Bridal Gown Shop Business Plan

Recycled Dreams is Portland’s retail rental shop of wedding dresses and accessories. Recycled Dreams is owned and operated by Connie Jugal. They will fill the gap in the market for formal wedding attire that is rented instead of purchased. Traditionally, wedding party members are required by the bride to buy their dresses. They have no say in what the dress will look like. They are given the exact dress they should purchase. Most often, the dresses look terrible and end up in the closet collecting dust. The dress will be rented once so it is very practical to allow people the option to rent it. This makes the event more cost-effective and fashionable, as well. Men can rent tuxedos, now women can rent bridal dresses.

The Services

Recycled dream’s rents veils, shoes, head pieces, and dresses. You can buy the dresses for the bride and other women if you so desire. These dresses can be purchased, but most people will be thrilled to have the option to rent them. Recycled Dreams is able to provide the wedding party with all the required clothing and accessories. We also have strategic partnerships that allow us to work with top-flight local providers of services like catering, invitations and flowers. These alliances offer customers a single-stop shop where all the preparations can be done at Recycled Dreams. Recycled Dreams also earns a commission from referrals which creates an additional revenue source.

The Market and Competition

Recycled Dreams is targeting two market segments: the parents and the bride. Couples as a market are growing at 9.9% per year with 114,584 customers. Parents have an 8% growth rate with over 112,000 customers.

Recycled Dreams is up against traditional bridal shops that carry the product. While these are competitors, Recycled Dreams sees them as indirect competitors since Recycled Dreams believes that the ability to rent the dresses is a huge value added service. There are currently no other Portland bridal rental facilities. The concept is entirely new. It was tested in San Francisco with great success. Recycled Dreams is now offering it in Portland.

Competitive Edge

Recycled Dreams offers two advantages that will allow them to quickly expand their customer base and validate the new concept. The first is the idea that indeed, like men’s tuxedo’s, women’s bridal wear can be rented. This is particularly intuitive since the dresses are only worn once. While some may feel there is a stigma associated with renting clothes by women, it is impossible for anyone but the renter to tell that the dress they are wearing was rented. Their unmatched customer service is their second competitive edge. Recycled Dreams regards their role in the whole process as holding the client’s hands and walking them through it, meeting all their needs. This philosophy has been instilled throughout the company.

Management

Recycled Dreams’s great idea is not the only thing that makes it special. It also has a highly experienced founder and manager who will help the company reach profitability. Connie has many years’ experience in retail management. Connie’s experience includes managing multiple stores for the Salvation Army. While manager, Connie was responsible for growth up to 46% a year per store. Connie will draw on her extensive industry experience to make Recycled Wishes a success.

Recycled Dreams is an exciting concept that acknowledges the fact that most bridal party dresses are not the prettiest creations, are quite expensive, and almost never worn after the intended wedding. Recycled Dreams will be profitable by month 10, with strong sales in year one, and more than doubling in year three.
