The Enchanted Vineyard Bed & Breakfast can be found in Eugene’s Lorane Valley. This valley is famous for its beauty and abundance of vineyards. Missy Stewart will manage the B&B. The Stewart&#8217s newly renovated home will be where the B&B is located. Their home is the center piece for the entire B&B experience. Each of the five rooms have their own private bath. The facility has a wonderful centralized living room for the socialization of the guests, a private garden patio, and an on-site winery on the Stewart’s 10 acres of land. Every room boasts 65% of its walls as windows giving guests unbeatable views of the valley.

The Market

Within the hospitality industry, The Enchanted Vineyard will be competing with hotels and other B&Bs. The Enchanted Vineyard competes against hotels, but their direct competitors are other B&Bs. Enchanted’s facilities are far nicer than other B&Bs for its size. All of the smaller B&Bs, which have less than 9 bedrooms, are just a regular house that was converted into a B&B. It is not anything special. Enchanted Vineyard however, is a newly remodeled house and vineyard located in a picturesque area.

The Enchanted Vineyard targets three groups. The first group is weekend getaway travellers, usually people from Eugene who want to escape for the weekend. Eugene is a beautiful town in the Willamette River region, well-known for its wineries as well as cycling and old growth forests. This customer segment is growing at 11% per annum with 12,000 potential buyers. The second group are out-of town travelers, who are growing at 10% annually with 18,000 potential clients. The last group of customers the B&B is targeting are University of Oregon travelers. Eugene attracts thousands of students, parents, and speakers from the university. Once a business relationship is established with U of O, it will provide a constant stream of new business. With 12,000 potential customers, this customer group is growing at 17%

Two distinct competitive advantages distinguish the Enchanted Vineyard from its competitors. The first is a never-ending commitment to customer service, detail and attention. The Stewarts recognize that their mission is to ensure that their customers have the finest stay with them. John and Missy are willing to do anything for their customers’ happiness. Their unique facility is their second competitive benefit. It is partly because the structure itself is an amazing place to stay. It is also unique due to the stunning view of the Lorane Valley. This area is full of wineries, vineyards, and other attractions.

Management Team

Its management will allow The Enchanted Vineyard to carry out its strong business plan. Missy received her MBA which gave her valuable business skills. Missy joined a team consisting of five MBA students, who started their own business. Finally, Missy’s experience in the B&B sector has given her incredible insight and knowledge that is directly relevant to what she does now.

The Enchanted Vineyard is able to take advantage of this amazing facility and make it a unique B&B, serving the Eugene community. Missy, the sole proprietor, will do this with passion and expertise. The B&B is expected to be profitable in year two. It will also earn more than $77,000 by year three.
